In 2017, Richter, who is now 91, announced that he had stopped painting and the 14 canvases at Zwirner on 20th Street represent his last work made in 2016-2017. The exhibition also includes 70 drawings and ink jet prints made in the last few years. A prodigious output for any artist of any age.
