Nico Hoerner has become the first Cub to sign a long-term extension since Kyle Hendricks got his deal in 2019. The Hoerner contract runs through 2026, seemingly giving Wrigley Field fans at least four years to watch him play alongside Dansby Swanson. The Cubs will build around the middle infield.
