State Support For Higher Education Tops $112 Billion, Up More Than 6% Over Last Year

State support for higher education reached $112.3 billion for fiscal year (FY) 2023, a 6.6% increase over 2022. In the past five years, state support for higher education has increased 27.5%. The FY 23 level marks only the second time this support has topped $100 billion.
