(November 19 21:00) Art Of Trolling
If you've been on Reddit over the past couple days, you may have noticed that most popular meme subreddits have been flooded with memes about Johnny Depp and Amber Heard. The couple, who divorced in 2017, has been waging a volatile war involving domestic abuse allegations (and libel charges) for almost as long. Heard was the first to allege that Depp had been physical with her - an accusation that was swiftly dismissed by law enforcement. In 2018, Heard revisited the claims in a Washington Post op-ed. While she did not mention Johnny Depp by name, she definitely unerestimated the human power of deduction. In retaliation, Johnny Depp launched a 50 million dollar defamation lawsuit against the actress, which led to a nasty trial that brought Heard's abuse of Depp to light. While this trial is still ongoing, it definitely showed the dark and clearly toxic underbelly of their relationship - and revealed that Depp is definitely more innocent than he may seem. In more recent news, Johnny Depp lost a libel case against the Sun over their reporting of the domestic violence allegations. On Friday, the actor posted a letter to his followers on Instagram, sharing that Warner Brothers had asked him to resign from his role as the wizard Grindelwald of the Fantastic Beasts Harry Potter spinoff. This news upset fans all over the world, and inspired them to start a petition to remove Amber Heard from Aquaman 2. Between the petition (which boasts almost 800k signatures) and the insane amount of memes on Reddit, seems like Johnny Depp has a lot of people on his side. Before we get to the memes, we want to remind you that it's important to believe women. But it's also important to remember that men can be victims of abuse, as well. Let's just be good to one another.
